Huntington Capital Expands Team & Opens New Offices in Nevada

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. (December 3, 2013) – Huntington Capital (“Huntington”), a San Diego based mezzanine debt and private equity fund focused on the lower-middle market in the western United States, has announced the additions of Claude Sapp as an Operating Executive and Craig Pickett as an Associate based in Nevada. In conjunction with these new hires Huntington Capital will open offices in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada.

Claude joins the team from Fifteen Thirteen Group an investment holding group based in Tampa, Florida focused on building a portfolio of operating companies in the areas of manufacturing, distribution and consumer products. At Fifteen Thirteen Group, Claude worked in an operations consultant role and more recently as a CFO at one of the portfolio investments.

Claude has consulted with various clients throughout the US and in Europe, advising boards and senior executives on financial planning, cash & liquidity management, operational improvements and executing growth strategies. Claude has served in executive roles at several successful technology firms including as a founder of Ubercomputing, Inc and Highland Consulting and in leadership roles at AG Energy Corporation and Atlanta Eurocars. 

Claude earned an MBA from The University of Tampa and a BA from Emory University and has done PhD work in Economics (with a focus on econometrics) at the University of Nevada Reno.

Claude’s responsibilities at Huntington will include business development and due diligence.  He is also expected to consult with and provide operational assistance to select companies in the Huntington portfolio.

Craig Pickett joined the team in October of 2013 from Ernst & Young where he served as part of the audit staff in delivering assurance services to both public and private companies. Prior to Ernst & Young, Craig co-owned his own company in the entertainment and events industry. Craig will be responsible for leading the Funds business development activities in the Nevada market.  His responsibilities will also include the analysis of new investment opportunities, investment due diligence, deal underwriting and investment monitoring.

Craig attended Brigham Young University, earning a B.S. in Business Management.
