Tim Bubnack

Managing Partner

Tim joined HCAP Partners in June 2007 and has more than 30 years of experience providing loans and equity investments to growth-stage businesses. As Managing Partner, he has led the growth of the firm and has been responsible for numerous investments across four HCAP Funds. Tim is currently representing HCAP Partners as a Board Director for Atlantic Closing & Escrow, Cubex Systems, FleetNurse, Lone Star Analysis, and Saphyre and is a Board Observer for BetterNight and CortiCare.

Prior to joining HCAP, Tim spent five years with Silicon Valley Bank as Managing Director of commercial banking activities in the San Diego region where he managed early stage and middle market banking relationships in the technology, communications and biomedical industries. Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank in 2002, he served in senior executive positions at Comerica Ventures, Inc. and Comerica Capital Advisors where he was responsible for making direct equity investments and loans into emerging growth companies and limited partner commitments to venture capital funds. He was part of the founding team of Comerica Bank’s Southern California Emerging Growth Division.

Tim holds a B.B.A in Business Economics from the University of San Diego.
